There comes a time for most businesses when you must go out to meet the client. You want to make a professional impression. So what do you do when it’s time to hit the road? When your business needs to take center stage you can draw on these 5 tips to make a successful production.
The Program. Have a handout. Whether it’s a business card, brochure or a presentation package, have something that explains what you do and what you can do for your customers. For example, if you’re an author selling your book at a show– have something that people can take away to refer you to their friends and colleagues and place orders.
Costumes. What you wear will speak of your professionalism. If you are looking to have a cohesive business image throughout your company, consider uniforms. Before you cringe at the thought of cost or perhaps have flashbacks to the days of school uniforms, a uniform can be as simple as a baseball cap and polo shirt. Logos and color will tie together your business image.
The Tour Bus. If you use a van or truck to travel to or to bring your service/products to clients consider signs. Vinyl or magnetic signs can be easily placed on and easily removed from vehicles, while advertising your business and clearly identifying you as a professional.
Staring Role. You’re the star! When was the last time you updated your head shot? If you use your photo on your web site or any of your printed promotional materials you want to be recognizable. Three years should be your rule… hairstyles, glasses and fashion become visibly dated after that!
Back Drop. Your presentation can benefit from graphics that set the stage. Methods of staging range from trade show booths to vibrant PowerPoint presentations. Self-publishing authors can make an impression at book signings and shows with a vinyl banner or core board display of their book cover– team with a light-weight aluminum easel from an office superstore-and the stage is set!
